Costa Smeralda is Italy’s first example of an integrated tourism and architectural masterplan, transforming a once-wild, untouched coastline into a luxury destination. Now, the challenge is to go beyond resorts, villas, and yachts by designing an outdoor system that will foster territorial development. In a multidisciplinary project team, TOP joins forces with Just Good Tourism and Outdoor Advisor to create a strategy that matches the ambitions of a world-class destination.
Why
The outdoor strategy aims to extend the enjoyment of the area beyond the coastline and summer season, promoting the inland region and positioning Arzachena as a hub for outdoor activities. It also seeks to boost urban, infrastructural, and entrepreneurial development.
What
– Integrated Outdoor Resort .A harmonious blend of coastal and inland dimensions.
– Mediterranean Outdoor System: Light infrastructure that emphasizes the natural landscape as a stage for activities like hiking, cycling, climbing, and water sports, focusing on scenic and immersive experiences.
How
- Technical surveys and meetings with industry operators.
- Design of interventions and identification of key products/disciplines to develop.
- Feasibility analysis and technical evaluation of proposed actions.
